plant
I am drawn to the delicate tangibility of tumbleweeds as produce. The dehydrated life cycle they are a part of is central to the narrative of California agriculture and the water crisis of the southwest. The first few tumbleweeds that I gathered were in New Mexico, which influenced my choice in choosing to envelope them in blue; both the spiritual color of protection, and the hue of branching systems of veins.
